Serving Lawton with faith, sincerity, and responsibility
American Muslim Association of Lawton (AMAL) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit religious organization located in Lawton, Oklahoma. AMAL serves Muslims and the broader community by providing a welcoming place for worship, Islamic education, community engagement, charitable service, and family support.
Our name reflects our purpose. AMAL means hope, and our work is built around hope in action: hope for stronger families, hope for children who learn their faith with confidence, hope for neighbors who feel welcomed, and hope for a community that serves others with compassion. We believe an Islamic center should be a place where people can pray, learn, ask questions, volunteer, and build trusted relationships.
AMAL welcomes community members from many backgrounds. Some families have lived in Lawton for years, while others are new students, workers, military families, or visitors seeking a connection to the local Muslim community. We aim to make every person feel respected and included while maintaining Islamic values, safe practices, and a clear commitment to service.

Our mission
Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment for worship, learning, community service, and charitable activities while preserving Islamic values and strengthening community bonds. We support daily worship, Friday prayer, Ramadan and Eid activities, Quran education, youth development, family programs, volunteer opportunities, and outreach that benefits people in need.
AMAL’s mission is practical. It means keeping a clean and accessible prayer space, communicating clearly with families, offering educational opportunities that are appropriate for different ages, encouraging service among youth and adults, and responding to community needs with dignity. It also means building a stronger online presence so people searching for prayer, classes, volunteering, or support in Lawton can easily find accurate information.

Our vision
Our vision is to build a vibrant Islamic center that serves as a trusted place of worship, education, support, and community engagement for generations to come. We want AMAL to be known as a reliable community institution where families feel safe, young people develop good character, elders are respected, and neighbors see Islam represented through mercy, honesty, and service.
We are working toward a future with expanded educational programs, stronger youth activities, improved facilities, organized volunteer teams, deeper charitable outreach, and a clearer pathway for people who want to learn, donate, or get involved. Every program and improvement is part of a long-term commitment to serve Lawton with excellence.
